"Paint What You Love"

Ed and Judite Holder had lost their son in a terrible traffic accident just before Christmas and in his memory Ed asked if I would paint their son Bruno’s portrait as a surprise for Judite.

A great honour to think Ed had the confidence in my artistic ability to paint someone they so loved. I so wanted to honour him by capturing his personality but I had never met Bruno.

In order to paint a portrait posthumous you need many photos to help reveal their different traits.

The photos Ed gave me, especially his school photo with his striking, gorgeous brown eyes and his baseball cap on backwards made my task easy.

Bruno was a sweet guy.
