Tulips SOLD

A friend asked if I could paint a large oil painting for their home but wanted it to be similar in style to a friend of theirs who is a well-known artist. I viewed the artist’s work online but didn’t think my style would meld her style - abstract to my realistic approach. I did a tulip study on an 8”x10” canvas to get a feel as to what they wanted. They accepted my limitations so I drew several large paper tulips, each tulip measuring 19" x 24", and prepared a 4 ft. x 8 ft. canvas with a dark underpainting on which to place them. Having included them in the planning of the painting was fun, laying out the tulips in various designs we had a good layout.
