Collecting Water SOLD

The children are collecting water in Kisoro, Uganda and had walked 5 miles to this pond, up and down hills and through mosquito ridden swamps to get to this water pool. After they shooed the animals out of the water, they began collecting their drinking water to carry 5 miles back home. The photograph from which this painting was painted is very significant and has been used by Compassion as the "poster" picture of their water projects, and was a defining moment in helping these children receive clean drinking water. Compassion Canada's major "Water For The Children" project in Kisora began after this day. My friend Bob who took the photo gave me three DVD's of photos to use in my paintings, this is one of them.
