Inspired by a garden scene at a paint-out, I wanted to create an abstract with a technique using plastic wrap. I started with the sketch first. Then I laid a wash of the paint on the paper, and laid plastic wrap on top and waited until it dried. This gave me an abstract type background. The painting developed from there. When unsure of how to proceed on a plain white sheet of watercolour paper, the plastic wrap technique opens many avenues of thought.
