Mary and Her Beautiful Hat SOLD

The first time I had encountered L’Arche was when I came to London in 1998. I had never heard of L’Arche before. As I was sitting in Church one Sunday morning, a group of people were sitting behind me. Tears welled in my eyes, I was so taken by the overwhelming love shown by L’Arche staff to these very special people.

Another time during Mass, prayers were being said for someone who passed away. My friend Toinette was crying so I went up to her after Mass and found out that the special person was Mary. Toinette loved Mary. My heart hurt, she was so broken. When I got home after Mass I went to my art room and painted Mary, finishing her portrait that day. God was so guiding my brush that day because her likeness was a miracle. Her portrait now hangs in Cana House, London.
