Several years after my Dad passed away, Mom moved from her home on Lacroix Street and we helped her dispose of some things, replacing them with articles that would fit in her apartment. While shopping one Saturday morning we found a lovely wrought iron soda fountain table painted white with chairs to match and the seats were spring green and white stripe, with a glass tabletop.
The table now graces my home, a lovely keepsake and remembrance of Mom’s love of her family, of life, and her infectious personality. Everyone loved Nanny.
I painted this table as it stood in the morning light on my front porch when I lived along the Thames River just outside of Chatham, near the French village of Paincourt.
