Moving to London from the hometown of Chatham where I was born and raised, first married, and where my two girls were brought up, I felt so homesick. This therapeutic montage of memories painted in watercolour of my home along the river soothed my spirit. Vignettes are hidden in the montage - the nearby landscape of the little French village; the breezeway of my home opening to a beautiful sunset and a patio made from circles of tree trunks leading to an enchanting yard of garden pathways; a wren house hanging in the maple tree; an antique bird bath; a little bunny rabbit who used to hop along my flagstone path; and an edged border of cedar posts embedded in the ground along the flagstone path. See if you can find them.
I loved my beautiful yard of a little over an acre that is just a memory now. It was my solice and sanity after my husband's passing. Whenever I felt sad, I would wander my yard and the sadness disappeared. What God has blessed us in nature certainly soothes the soul.
