What a wonderfully warm, sunny day and I was so excited to see the D’Orsay Museum in Paris. Since I had always wanted to visit the Impressionists paintings, our tour manager said he would take me while the others went to see the Eiffel Tower.
The D’Orsay Museum, originally a train station, is located on the Left Bank of the Seine River and is smaller (151,536 square feet, including the awning) than the Louvre Museum (652,00 square feet) located on the Right Bank of the Seine River.
Overlooking Paris, I snapped a photo from the D’Orsay’s roof-top café – the view was simply magical with the backdrop of a darkening sky against the buildings in the bright sunlight combined with the forefront canopy of autumn-tinted trees.
