Returning from his beach walk to where I was sitting and sketching on Barefoot Beach in Bonita Springs Florida, Don was carrying three beautifully etched white shells he found along the beach and handed them to me saying, "You can sketch these."
The shells were huge with the largest being 6" wide x 4.5" deep x 8" long. "These are going home with me – and home meaning, back to Ontario."
They were remarkable, all the lacy etchings made by the salt water - tiny little holes in the shells surface making them look like dainty lace. Simply beautiful.
